So where will TV be in the next 5-10 years. Well here’s a hint, Samsung have designed a flexible Amoled (Activematrix organic light-emitting diode) TV. Sounds impressive and confusing! This display can be folded to encompass your entire field of vision. Lookout!

If 3D is the future of television broadcasting, flexible displays are surely the future of the TV itself.

Bathroom Spin Out

Now here’s a design that will spin you out. It’s brought to us by Israeli designer Ron Arad, is mounted on a wall and looks like a urinal – hmmm. Tueco’s new Rotator bathroom fixture is a fully functional rotating bathtub and shower. The wider-lipped end serves as the tub portion, while the shallower side acts as the shower floor. To go from one function to the next, the wheel-shaped fixture slowly rotates around. Amazing.

Kylie Minogue 2011 Aria Awards Hall of Fame

Kylie Minogue 2011 Aria Awards

It was a controversial scenario that made front page news when we created this moment. Kylie Minogue had said that if she was inducted into the Aria Hall Of Fame then she’d like the PM Julia Gillard to do it – so we followed Kylie’s wish. As you know Kylie has a huge gay following and Julia well she hasn’t exactly gone with the gay marriage concept – I think you get the picture. You’ve gotta love Molly though. We asked him to make a speech and throw to Julia to give the award to Kylie. Did that happen – No. Instead after his speech Molly gets all emotional and says to Kylie come on up – were our cameras ready for this – no – I think everybody went – what the ? Too funny.

Kate Winslet Wins Best Actress 2009

I worked on the Oscars telecast in 2009, a huge production – one of my favourite gigs in fact. What’s not to love about all that glitz, glamour and celebrity.

I had seen Kate Winslet in so many movies and always admired her as an actor however when she won that year I couldn’t help but think please someone give her some ventalin before she has an asthma attack. Was it just me?

Sydney Olympics Ian Thorpe in Incredible Slow Motion (2000 Olympics)

Working on the 2000 Olympics as a producer was the proudest and most exciting time of my career. Based at the International Broadcast Centre in Sydney, amongst broadcasters from all over the world, it was an eye opening and life changing experience. A once in a lifetime opportunity.

One of my most memorable moments was this race with Ian Thorpe – such a super fish and it was amazing to see how the rest of the world was so in awe of him. I think you’ll find this creative version of the video a visual pleasure.

Beached AZ

BEACHED AZ

My desire is to take my refined TV skills and apply them in a multiplatform setting. An example of this in action is the project Beached Az which debuted on Youtube, and gained widespread popularity in Australia and New Zealand through social media channels. Beached Az was short film created in April 2008  by Jarod Green, Anthony MacFarlane and Nick Boshier. In 2009, the same creators came together to write, direct and animate ten more episodes for ABC Television.

Beached Az is infectious. It follows the struggle of a whale stranded on a New Zealand beach trying to get back into the ocean. During his time on the beach, he encounters a variety of sea life who discuss their various problems and ambitions. Each episode is based on a series of comedic conversations highlighting social differences. The animation is simple, but this adds to it’s appeal.

Brave

When I went to my first movie as a young girl I remembered being fascinated by the moving pictures and wondering how it all worked. Now here I am in film and TV world and finally I think I have figured much of it out. We can never know everything – that would take away the opportunity to learn.

Apart from loving the creative art of television and film, I was also intrigued by the actors and their ability to deliver a great story line with such conviction. The first movie I saw was “To Sir With Love” with Sidney Poitier and the second “The Accused” with Jodie Foster. Those two films convinced me of the power of movies.

My blog celebrates what is new, creative and intriguing in movie land, which leads us to “Brave”.

BRAVE

One of the most highly anticipated movies of the year is Disney/Pixar’s ‘Brave”. A highly creative animation with a unique storyline, it goes a little something like this. Determined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.

2012 Light Festival

Check out the 2012 Light Festival in Ghent, Belgium. This Romanesque cathedral is so awesome. I just had to share it.

It’s constructed of wood and covered with 55,000 LED lights. It reaches 28 meters into the sky and uses only 20 kWh of energy. Amongst 30 other displays this one stands out the most, so much so that over half a million people have come to see it.

Luminaire De Cagna is an Italian family business responsible for this stunning light display in the cathedral, and has created light displays since 1930. They started with oil and carbine lights, moved on to electric and, since 2006, have used LED-lights exclusively, and we’re so glad they did.

Ferguson’s a Must

In my youth I was always singing and playing guitar in bands and then moved onto Djing which I had a natural talent for. I became a prominent beatmixing DJ around the Sydney club scene for over 10 years and was offered a role as a National Promotion’s Manager with Polygram Music. My key tasks in the record company were nuturing new talent, picking a hit track, and being a pioneer in getting dance music onto radio station playlists which had never been done before. The measure of that success is to ask yourself how often you hear a dance track on radio these days?

There’s no doubt my crea8tivity is strong when it comes to music and through this site I will share with you up and coming talent in this field.

Ferguson’s a Must

She’s a trained legal secretary who decided to delve into a music career and I’m so glad she did.  She insisted on writing all of the tracks on her debut album, determined that no one would stand in the way of her creativity. When I heard the voice of this 25 year old English gal I thought here is a voice like silk, and a voice of our generation. Impressive start and one to check out for sure.
